5.9.08 | Zeeland, MI | Herman Miller, Inc., unveiled its Space Utilization Service with an Industry Excellence Award from CoreNet Global. The Space Utilization Service is based on a patent-pending, wirelesstechnology developed by Herman Miller to measure space occupancy inbuilding environments. Sensors temporarily attach to theunderside of chairs or work surfaces and continuously collect movementdata to provide results that may be studied to improve workflow andspace usage. Receiving this award qualifies the company for the distinguished H. Bruce Russell Global Innovator's Award, which will be announced atthe CoreNet Global North American Fall Summit in November.

5.9.08 | Grand Rapids, MI | ­Configura, Inc. released Version 2.0 CET Designer software for designing and specifying office furniture and interiors. The software is used by Haworth and Teknion dealers and, May 19, will be launched by Steelcase. A partnership with ProjectMatrix provides CET Designer users access to more than 80 percent of the products in the commercial furniture industry. 

4.26.08 | Indianapolis, IN | is.group has integrated S.P. Richards’ new Enhanced E-Content with its is.D-Force and is.D-Force2 web storefront products. As part of this initiative, is.group has also partnered with SPR on the production of enhanced content of the is.group RDC stocking products, including their Jan-San offering, Legacy. is.D-Force products for online sales can now take advantage of the Enhanced E-Content to deliver a significantly improved purchasing experience for their customers.  S.P. Richards’ Enhanced E-Content will be shown at is.group’s upcoming annual meeting May 7-10 in Ft. Lauderdale and will be available for release to dealers on both is.D-Force and is.D-Force2 in mid-May at no additional cost. 

4.11.08 | Indianapolis, IN | OFCDesk will hold a design competition, Real-time Office Spaces: Designing the NeoCon experience.  Participants will be asked to use OFCDesk's Interior Design CAD (IDC) along with Steelcase products to showcase the flexibility and ease of use of IDC within a limited floor space. OFCDesk will display a real-time construction of the winning office layout at their booth while simultaneously displaying computer models of the original design on monitors throughout the exhibit.
