Study Finds Most Office Workers Fear Backlash Of Telecommuting
8.15.08 | Grand Rapids, MI | The Steelcase Workplace Index Survey reports that most office workers fear a backlash for telecommuting, yet see the trend as increasing. The results, reported by Prime Newswire, www.primenewswire.com/, found that office workers fear that telecommuting can hurt their career prospects due to a lack of contact with the employer and the company's preference to control the work environment and prevent a decline in productivity. However, a majority of the respondents believe that current technology allows them to be just as connected to the office and that a different environment can actually make them more productive.
