A two-hour BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard and level Certification training course has been reviewed and was approved by the USGBC for 2 GBCI CE Hours for LEED Professionals. Approval of the course allows BIFMA to offer AP credit for the 2-hour training sessions scheduled in 9 cities that will provide the architect, interior designer and furniture specifier with an understanding of how level certification works to make the identification of "green" products easier.

Graduate Research Fellowship for the next five years. The recipient of the 2009 AAHID / Nurture Graduate Research Fellowship
was James J. Marstiller whose research focused on

fellowship will be announced in April.

3.10.10 | Indianapolis, IN | The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association is offering
a solution for companies that must comply with the Lead: Renovation, Repair and Painting rule from the Environmental Protection Agency.
The online portion of the training
will be available through the CEDIA e-Learning platform, and the
hands-on lab portion of the training will be hosted by CEDIA at select
ADI locations throughout the U.S.
The Lead: Renovation, Repair & Painting rule sets forth special
requirements for anyone who is paid to perform work that disturbs
surfaces that may contain lead-based paint and applies to work done in homes built before 1978 as well as in pre-1978
buildings occupied by children under the age of six or by a pregnant
woman. The rule is set to be fully implemented by April 22, 2010.

CEU, attended by about 40 people, was followed by an evening of celebration with dining and

3.3.10 | Grand Haven, MI | Atlas Ergonomics conducted a five-month study to determine workers' preference in keyboard design. The results indicated that 85% of workers preferred an experimental split keyboard design and 84% preferred components further apart than the market's best-selling split design. Atlas Ergonomics will present detailed results in a
free, one-hour webinar hosted by National Ergonomics Conference and
Exhibition on March 10 at 2:00 p.m. EST.
