8.27.08 | Vista, CA | Carrier Johnson + CULTURE announced the groundbreaking for the City of Vista Civic Center, a municipal building designed for community and civic uses. Scheduled to open in 2010, the City of Vista Civic Center will consolidate city offices, an emergency operations center that doubles as a community room and event space, and the city council’s chambers into a single, environmentally innovative facility. 

8.26.08 | Chicago, IL | HOK Chicago completed a Marriott hotel project that features two separate Marriott-branded hotels in the same tower. The Marriott Residence Inn Suites is an extended-stay hotel with live-in amenities and can be recognized from the street for its horizontal architectural expression. The second Marriott is the SpringHill Suites, which features a vertical design exterior, also is an extended-stay hotel with small bar areas and separate sitting areas. 

8.25.08 | Philadelphia, PA | Daroff Design + DDI Architects and REIT Management completed a two-year renovation of Centre Square. The Daroff design team created a new sloping glass entrance for the four-story central atrium which holds a digitally controlled art work light feature.
