Portman Consortium Breaks Ground On Incheon Tower In South Korea

7.9.08 | Atlanta, GA | Portman Holdings, in partnership with Samsung C&T Corporation, Hyundai E&C and SYM-Associates, broke ground on the Incheon Tower in Seoul, Korea.  The mixed-used project, built on re-claimed land from the Yellow Sea, and on target to become the second tallest skyscraper in the world, is scheduled for completion in 2014.

Turner Selected to Construct Fan Pier Office Building

7.8.08 | Boston, MA | Turner Construction Company was selected by The Fallon Company as the general contractor for a $125 million office building at Fan Pier on Boston's waterfront.  Offering views of both the city and Boston Harbor, the ONE Marina Park Drive, designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects, will be 18 stories and approximately 500,000 sq. ft. of office space. It represents the first phase of construction of the 21 acre Master Plan for Fan Pier.

Perkins+Will Chosen To Design Tropical Research Centre

7.3.08 | San Francisco | Perkins+Will, following an international design competition, was retained by Singapore's National Research Foundation to design “CREATE” (Campus for Research Excellence And Technological Enterprise). CREATE'’s design will pioneer the tropical use of advanced environmental and energy-saving technologies such as wind turbines driven by tropical breezes and enthalpy wheels that capture wind-generated warmth. The project is scheduled for completion in 2010.
