Mr. Raetzman worked as a director of design, project director, corporate manager, designer, facilities planner for such firms as HOK Architects, Perkins+Will Architects, Graco, Inc. and Steelcase, Inc.

5.23.08 | Chicago, IL | Neville Lewis' show of paintings and drawings will open June 3 at the Union League Club, 65 West Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL. Work drawn from the beaches of East Hampton and scenes from travels in Italy will be on view. Then at NEOCON Neville will be speaking about the need for designers to be prepared to sketch.  He is not negating the use of the computer, which he uses constantly, but he also feels strongly about the need to draw. Mr. Lewis founded Neville Lewis Associates, Inc. before it was acquired by PHH Group, Inc. Mr. Lewis was Design Director of the Wall Street office of Gensler and is a design consultant for Ted Moudis Architects.

5.23.08 | Boston, MA | Jonathan D. Ross became Director of Education for Gensler Boston. Most recently, Mr. Ross spent 17 years at the firm Shepley Bulfinch Richardson & Abbott in Boston, MA, where he was a principal and chair of the Education Practice Group. Miller, partner at Pei Cobb Freed, NYC, was elected the 2009 AIA first vice president/president-elect and 2010 Institute President at the AIA National Convention, held in Boston. Mr. Miller has been a leader within the AIA for many years, serving as treasurer, vice president and president of AIA New York and as a regional director for AIA New York State. Other elected officials include:

• Walter J. Hainsfurther, president of Kurtz Associate Architects, will serve a two-year vice presidential term.
• Pamela J. Loeffelman, principal at Perkins Eastman, Stamford, CT, was elected to a two-year vice presidential. term.
• Stephen K. Loos, senior design architect for the Mulhern Group, will serve a two-year term as secretary of the AIA.

5.22.08 | Philadelphia, PA | Marilyn Jordan Taylor, Partner in Charge of the Urban Design and Planning Practice at Skidmore Owings & Merrill LLP and the first woman to serve as Chairman of Skidmore Owings & Merrill, was named Dean of the School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania, effective October 1, 2008. Taylor has led Skidmore Owings & Merrill's Urban Design & Planning practice in such projects as Columbia University's Manhattanville Master Plan, the East River Waterfront Master Plan, and the reclamation of Con Ed's East River sites for mixed-use development.
