Ms. Brazil, who has led the design of several Times Square properties as well as the Comcast Tower in Philadelphia and the tallest building in New Jersey, is recognized as being a successful woman in a traditionally male-dominated field.

3.7.08 | Seattle, WA | Mithun plans to open an office in San Francisco, CA, and has hired Sandy Mendler as principal for the new office. Ms. Mendler previously was senior vice president and design principal for HOK and brings more than 20 years of experience.

3.7.08 | New York, NY | Ted Moudis, senior principle at Ted Moudis Associates and the Citco Group accompanied the Premier of Nova Scotia, Rodney MacDonald as they rang the NYSE closing bell on Tuesday, February 26. Celebrating Nova Scotia's recent success in the international financial services sector, Premier MacDonald was the second Canadian premier to ring the bell at the stock exchange.

3.7.08 | New York, NY | Dr. Andrew Laing, DEGW's Managing Director for North America, recently spoke at a Global Event in San Francisco, hosted by Cisco. The Feb. 20-21 conference, Connecting Cities: Innovation for Sustainability, brought together leaders from around the world to address climate change and challenges in urban sustainability.Dr. Laing spoke on the changing role of work and the design of sustainable strategies. 

3.6.08 | Chicago, IL | Anne T. Sullivan joined Thornton Tomasetti, Inc., as Vice President in charge of establishing a historic preservation practice sector in the Chicago office. As a senior associate with Johnson Lasky Architects in Chicago over the past 15 years, Ms. Sullivan was involved with a number of Thornton Tomasetti projects, including Edgewater Beach Apartments exterior wall restoration in Chicago and the Martin Mitchell Mansion structural evaluation in Naperville, IL. 

3.6.08 | Boston, MA | Robert Pasersky was honored with the 2008 American Institute of Architects' Young Architects Award. Mr. Pasersky, an associate with the Boston firm of Payette, was nominated for his services to the profession and and to the community. Noted was his design services to two churches in Alabama which were destroyed by arson in 2006. In 2000, Mr. Pasersky earned a certificate of achievement from the Boston Society of Architects Young Designers Professional Development Institute.

3.5.08 | Raleigh, NC | JDavis Architects, an architecture, landscape architecture and interior design firm, welcomed Sarah Yu-tung Alexander to its staff as a project manager. Prior to joining JDavis, Ms. Alexander worked as a registered landscape architect specializing in universities, site planning, city streetscapes and commercial and residential design. 

3.5.08 | New York, NY | Ted Moudis, Senior Principal of Ted Moudis Associates received the Champion of Spirit Award from the Muscular dystrophy Association at the 2008 MDA Muscle Team Event at Chelsea Piers. The annual award is presented to an individual who is devoted to helping those with neuromuscular disease. Mr. Moudis has been affiliated with the MDA for over five years and has assisted the MDA in raising $1.1 million.
