The Space Utilization Service is based on a patent-pending, wirelesstechnology developed by Herman Miller to measure space occupancy inbuilding environments. 5.9.08 | New York, NY | ABC Home will launch a new Herman Miller installation on May 15 called Herman Miller Environment. Using eight of Herman Miller's most popular silhouettes, ABC Home upholstered them in fabrics from Maharam, offering new interpretations to classic designs. 5.8.08 | New York, NY | Humanscale's Faces in the Wild is receiving bids through May 12 on original animal-inspired artwork, donated by artists and designers from around the world. 5.8.08 | St. Louis, MO | TORK Design, a new furniture and lighting company, founded by a photographer, a former toy designer and roller coaster architect, and a custom home builder, recently opened, with a goal to identify visual and functional pieces that connect with the consumer on an emotional level. In addition to its eclectic design in furniture, the team has also createded a system of wireless illumination. 

5.8.08 | Chicago, IL | AGATI Furniture provided the furnishings for the Ramsey County Library in Maplewood, MN, and the Rhode Island School of Design's Fleet Library in Providence, RI, both of which received the 2008 American Library Association (ALA) /International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Library Interior Design Award. The Ramsey County Library was the winner of the public libraries over 30,000 square feet category. Rhode Island School of Design (RISD)'s Fleet Library took the award for outstanding historic renovation project (adaptive re-use).

5.7.08 | Dalton, GA | Invision Carpet Systems added two patterns, Hot Spots and Cool Bars to its collection. Both are offered in broadloom and modular and are made with Invista's Antron fiber. Hot Spots is a tip sheared loop that merges linear lines with circles of varying sizes, while Cool Bars brings a linear dimension through a bar pattern using a subtle color gradient.
