Mr. Daly interviewed Andrew Dent, a materials scientist who seeks out new materials for the company to add to its library. (He writes, “About 4,000 materials have made the cut so far, with 500 new additions each year.”) Material ConneXion, which now has branches in New York, Milan, Cologne, and Bangkok, was founded by George Beylerian in 1997. 7.27.06 | Los Angeles, CA | Bentley Prince Street has launched an eco-friendly adhesives line that complements the company’s new recycled-content backings. The new adhesives include Healthbond 1500 Ultra Green Plus, designed for broadloom applications, and NexStep 2300 Ultra Green Plus, for modular carpet. Both meet the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) Green Label Plus criteria for low emissions of VOCs and exceed California’s indoor quality standards for low-emitting products used in schools and office buildings. The adhesives are packaged in 75% post-industrial recycled resin pails. In addition, Healthbond 1500 also contains 20% post-consumer recycled content.
“To reach our Mission Zero goal of leaving zero environmental footprint by the year 2020, we need to look at every area of our products and processes to see where can innovate and adapt what we do to minimize our impact on the environment,” said Anthony Minite, president of Bentley Prince Street. “Our new adhesives are another example of this holistic philosophy in action. 7.27.06 | Hanover, PA | Emeco will be featured on a Travel Channel television show, "John Ratzenberger's Made In America," on Aug. 2, 2006, according to an article by Steve Marroni (“'Cheers' star coming to Hanover”) in the Evening Sun. The show follows Mr. Ratzenberger as he visits American factories. Emeco, headquartered in Hanover, PA, has become famous for its aluminum chairs.
