EPA Project of the Year Goes To EMCOR Group's Energy Services Unit

2.2.10 | Norwalk, CT | EMCOR Group's Energy Services Unit was recognized for its EcoLine TM Project. The project was named the "2009 Project of the Year" by the EPA's Landfill Methane Outreach Program. The program recognizes landfill methane capture projects for innovation in generating renewable energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The EcoLine TM Project converts landfill gas into a medium BTU quality gas, which is then used to produce environmentally clean electric power for both the University of New Hampshire and the local electrical grid.

Philadelphia Hosts IFMA’s New Facility Fusion Conference

1.27.10 | Houston, TX | The International Facility Management Association combined its 2010 spring events into one conference. IFMA Facility Fusion will offer facility professionals a fusion of new ideas, best practices, and leadership and management training on April 13-15, 2010, at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, 1201 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA. On opening day, Facility Fusion will feature an Energy Forum, and attendees will have an opportunity to meet new IFMA President and CEO Tony Keane. Other events include:

  • April 14 - William Rodgers Jr., president and CEO of GoodCents. The Facility Fusion expo will also debut.
  • April 15 - Jim Mathis will present, "Reinventing Yourself for the New World of Work: 7 Bold Truths to Becoming a Market Leader. Sheila Brown, an associate with Stantec consulting will present "Green Buildings: Trends for 2010."

EMCOR Subsidiary Contracted For Federal Courthouse

1.21.10 | Norwalk, CT | EMCOR Group, Inc. subsidiary, University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, will install mechanical systems at the U.S. Federal Courthouse in San Diego, CA. UMEC will be responsible for all mechanical and plumbing systems at the Courthouse, which include courtrooms, judges’ chambers, government offices and public spaces. UMEC will utilize BIM (Building Information Modeling) to facilitate installation coordination.
