Designer of the Year Marc Newson’s IKEPOD highlights the relationship between retro sci-fi and contemporary design with an homage to the 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey. What is Next?, Japanese architecture magazine Casa Brutus, examines the rejection of past
architectural conventions in creating museums for the 21st century.

National Shines Light on an Indispensable Language

A Visual Language. The half-day training event was held
at Cobb Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta. Following the
course, attendees mingled over hors d'oeuvres and refreshments and had a look at several of National's newest product introductions.
Neville Lewis Paintings And Drawings On View
5.23.08 | Chicago, IL | Neville Lewis' show of paintings and drawings will open June 3
at the Union League Club, 65 West Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL. Work drawn
from the beaches of East Hampton
and scenes from travels in Italy will be on view. Then at NEOCON
Neville will be speaking about the need for designers to be prepared to
sketch. He is not negating the use of the computer, which he uses
constantly, but he also feels strongly about the need to draw.
Mr. Lewis founded Neville Lewis Associates, Inc. before it was acquired
by PHH Group, Inc. Mr. Lewis was Design Director of the Wall Street
office of Gensler and
is a design consultant for Ted Moudis Architects.
