5.16.08 | London, UK | The London Festival of Architecture, a celebration and exploration of the city's buildings, streets and spaces, will run June 20-July 20. The festival includes street installations, exhibitions, guided walks, cycle rides, boat tours of the city's river and canals, parties, design workshops, debates, breakfast talks, and weekend street markets.  

5.15.08 | New York, NY | The IIDA NY Pioneering Design Series concludes on May 22 at the Tishman Auditorium at the New School, 66 West 12th St., NYC. Lecturer Steve Badanes, a founding member of the Jersey Devil design/build practice and currently a Professor in the University of Washington Department of Architecture will speak about his approach to architecture and community outreach, as well as the advantages of building one's own work. Each lecture begins at 6pm and will be followed by food and background music at the school's Wollman Gallery. Mickey Kostow, principal of New York's Kostow Greenwood Architects, will cap things off with his jazz band on May 22.

5.14.08 | Washington, DC | The 2009 AIA Grassroots Leadership and Legislative Conference will be held in Washington, DC, February 4-7, 2009, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, 1000 H Street Northwest. The conference will provide opportunities for continuing education, networking, advocacy, celebrations, leadership skills development, and knowledge sharing among members.
