8.26.08 | Athens, Greece | The Bowdoin College Museum of Art received an American Architecture Award by the Chicago Atheneum: Museum of Architecture and Design, the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, and the Metropolitan Arts Press.The American Architecture Awards program honors and celebrates the most outstanding new accomplishments for new architecture designed and built in the United States.

The program celebrates design by New York State Architects for their creativity in solving design problems for their clients and to generate greater public interest in architecture.

The winning projects include the Cha Women & Children’s Hospital, Bun Dang GuSeongNam, South Korea, KMD Architects; The Peter and Paula Fasseas Cancer Clinic at University Medical Center North, Tucson, AZ, CO Architects; Shenzhen Third People's Hospital, Shenzhen, China, TRO Jung|Brannen; and Weill Greenberg Center, New York, NY, Polshek Partnership Architects / Ballinger.

8.22.08 | Cologne, Germany | The Best Office Award will be presented at Orgatec by Koelnmesse and WirtschaftsWoche on October 21 at the Rheinterrassen in Cologne, Germany. Offices must fulfill the following requirements:

• The office supports the company’s workflow.
• The office boosts the creativity and motivation of the employees, and thus their productivity.
• The office’s design contributes to a sense of well-being and helps to enhance employees’ identification with their company.
• The office breaks new ground in lighting, acoustics, furnishings, flooring and media technology.
• The office features energy-saving concepts that help counteract global warming.
