8.7.08 | Phoenix, AZ | Bill Carnegie and Paula Hardison were the winners of the "Good Eye for the Good Guy" contest sponsored by Goodman Interior Structures. Mr. Carnegie is the President and CEO of the Community Food Bank and Ms. Hardison is the executive director of The Wellness Community. Both will receive a renovation of his office worth $20,000. 

7.31.08 | Dallas, TX |– Wilson Associates held its annual Point of Excellence Awards Luncheon June 25. The Point of Excellence Awards Luncheonhonor excellence in service to the design industry. This year two awards were presented to Katy Daly of Valley Forge Fabricsand Paul Scott of Scott Lamp Company. All proceeds from the Point of Excellence Awards luncheon benefit TheWilson Foundation whose mission is to “make adifference one child at a time” by providing financial support foreducation and healthcare programs. 

7.31.08 | Washington, DC | SBIC, the Sustainable Buildings Industry Council, is accepting applications from both the public and private sector for the 2008 Beyond GreenTM High-Performance Building Awards. Awards will be given in two categories:

• High-Performance Buildings (Category A), real-world application of high-performance design and construction practices
• High-Performance Initiatives (Category B), initiatives that shape, inform and catalyze the market for high-performance buildings

All application materials are available on the Council's Website (www.sbicouncil.org). The application deadline for the 2008 Awards program is October 15, 2008.

7.31.08 | Toronto, ON | IDS (Interior Design Show) invites independent designers and studios to submit creative concepts not currently in production for furniture, lighting, textiles, products and accessories to the Prototype Competition/Exhibition. Successful Prototype participants will be promoted in an exhibit display in the Centre of Studio North during the Interior Design Show at the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto, February 5-8, 2009.
