7.21.08 | Dulles, VA | Bluelounge, a Pasadena-based multidisciplinary design studio known for such solutions as The SpaceStation, Cool Feet and the CableBox, received a Bronze International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) from the IDSA and Businessweek, for The Sanctuary. The IDEA competition recognizes the most innovative product and product concept designs of the year. The Sanctuary lets users charge their cell phone, iPod®, PDA and headset simultaneously in one compact location. It contains a universal cell-phone charger compatible with over 1500 electronic devices from over 35 brands

7.20.08 | New York, NY | Mancini• Duffy received the 2008 Outstanding Project Award from The Greater New York Construction User Council for its Downtown Community Center for Manhattan Youth. The facility is the first dedicated community center in the organization’'s 20-year history. In addition to designing the project, Mancini Duffy worked closely with the NYC Economic Development Corporation to secure public and private funding sources for the project and with the construction manager to evaluate costs and to achieve the best possible pricing without sacrificing the design. 

7.20.08 | Holland, MI | Haworth's BRAZO, a LED task light, was awarded a 2008 IDEA (Industrial Design Excellence Award). Designed by Pablo Pardo of Pablo Designs in San Francisco, BRAZO has fully adjustable, calibrated light control and a precision quality machined recyclable aluminum body. IDSA’'s quarterly magazine, Innovation, will publish information on the Gold, Bronze and Silver winners.

7.17.08 | Irvine, CA | KTGY Group, Inc., received the Pasadena Beautiful Foundation's Redevelopment Award for the design of Whole foods Market. Located on the site of an 80-year-old historic building, the design features a two-story, Whole Foods Market and is supported by three levels of subterranean parking.
