Perkins+Will Awarded For Sustainable Design Leadership

Perkins+Will received two awards for its example of sustainable design leadership. Its New York office space, completed in early 2007, received a
LEED-CI Gold rating for its open workspace layout, water conservation, and healthy, multifunctional materials. It is the 23rd LEED
certified project completed by Perkins+Will, with nearly 100 more LEED
registered. Perkins+Will also was awarded a a 2008 Sustainable Leadership Award from CoreNet
Global, the American Institute of Architects, and the International
Interior Design Association at CoreNet's annual conference in San
Diego.
KTGY Earns Three Grand Nugget Awards

Susan Szenasy Awarded Medallion Of Honor Award By SARA
6.27.08 | New York, NY | Susan S. Szenasy, Editor-in-Chief of Metropolis received the 2008 Medallion of Honor Award from the New York Chapter of the Society of American Registered Architects (SARA). The
award recognizes her efforts during 22 years as editor in chief for
having informed, taken measure, stimulated, and evangelized on the potential
and power of Architecture, Design, and Culture. Other award winners include: Karin Bacon,
Lydia Rose, Renzo Piano, Santiago Calatrava, Ricardo Lagorretta, and Enrique
Norten.
Shaw Hospitality Group Wins IIDA/HD Product Design Award
6.26.08 | Dalton, GA | Shaw Hospitality Group won the IIDA/HD Product Design Award in the flooring/carpeting/rug
category for its Floor Architecture Collection at HD 2008 Expo
& Conference. The award is given for excellence and innovation in product
design for the hospitality industry.
The collection, designed by Shaw Hospitality Senior Stylist
Pamela Rainey, was inspired by her series of black and white
photographs that depict Mid-Century Modern architecture in Palm Springs.
Each of the carpet samples on view in the exhibition booths curatorial
display was paired with the corresponding black and white photograph.
AIA Florida Recognizes RTKL's Pioneering Data Center design
6.26.08 | Tallahassee, FL | RTKL received the 2008 Unbuilt Design Award for its proposed design of the China Life Insurance Company Data Center in Shanghai, China. Presented by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Florida/Caribbean Design & Honor Awards Program, the Unbuilt Design Award recognizes an outstanding commissioned architectural design that has not yet been built or completed. The 1,065,627 sq. ft. Data Center plan mixes working, living, and recreational spaces within an environmentally conscientious and operationally sustainable space.
