NJ | Mannington Commercial received an Environmental Stewardship Award from the Society of Plastic Engineers. The company was honored for its recycling efforts where large
quantities of VCT (vinyl composition tile) are being reclaimed and recycled back into flooring
products. Through its VCT n2 VCT program, three premium commercial tile
product
lines have been introduced with 25% post-consumer content.

3.16.10 | New York, NY | Leslie G. Moldow, Managing Principal at Perkins Eastman, Oakland, CA, was elected to the AIA College of Fellows. Over her 30 year career, she has focused on senior living and special needs
housing communities. She is a regular speaker at national conventions and is past chair
of
the AIA’s Design for Aging Knowledge Community. The
2010 Fellows will be honored at an investiture ceremony in Miami, FL on
June 11
during the AIA National Convention.

3.14.10 | New York, NY | Francis Cauffman received a 2010 Vista Award for excellence in design and construction teamwork in the category of new construction. The firm was recognized for its design of the Critical Care Building at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA. The CCB has Level II trauma accreditation and LEED Silver certification and houses an emergency department, a helipad, 12 surgical suites, and an intensive care unit.

Commercial announced the finalists in
its Tx:Style Design
Challenge. The
finalists are Athena Abrol, WWCOT; Bethany Burton, Ellerbe
Becket; Laurel Harrison, AECOM; Heather
Miller, Heather Miller Design; Joanne Titcomb,
Spillman Farmer Architects; and Samantha
Gotta and Jenny Song, ZGF architects. Each of
the finalist teams wins $3,000 and will join Mannington's design
development
group for a three-day creative session at the end of March.

3.11.10 | New York, NY | The deadline for M2L's Genuine Design
Competition was extended to Monday, March 15.
The competition asks
participants to create a video in the form of a
Public Service Announcement on the topic of genuine design and why
furniture designers deserve the right to protect their work against
unauthorized copies and counterfeits.
M2L will award $8,500 in scholarships to four chosen finalists
and honor the winners at an event at M2L's NYC showroom this spring.

was the winner of the Emporis 2009 Skyscraper of the Year
award. Designed by Jeanne Gang, Studio
Gang Architects, the residential and hotel tower was praised for its shape, its technical achievement in relation to the precision of the building's construction, and for its green design innovations.
