3.11.10 | New York, NY | The deadline for M2L's Genuine Design
Competition was extended to Monday, March 15.
The competition asks
participants to create a video in the form of a
Public Service Announcement on the topic of genuine design and why
furniture designers deserve the right to protect their work against
unauthorized copies and counterfeits.
M2L will award $8,500 in scholarships to four chosen finalists
and honor the winners at an event at M2L's NYC showroom this spring.

was the winner of the Emporis 2009 Skyscraper of the Year
award. Designed by Jeanne Gang, Studio
Gang Architects, the residential and hotel tower was praised for its shape, its technical achievement in relation to the precision of the building's construction, and for its green design innovations.

It is the 22nd time in 24 years that the company has been recognized among executives and board members of peer companies and industry analysts. Herman Miller had the further distinction of being the

3.4.10 | New York, NY | IIDA NY issued a Call for Entries for the 2010 Lester Dundes Interior Design Competition. The competition recognizes
extraordinary design projects and honors members of the New York
chapter of the IIDA for their
contributions to these exceptional projects and the design teams that

3.3.10 | Washington, DC | HOK, the General Services Administration, and the University of Maryland, earned a top award from the Federal Planning Division of the American Planning Association. Together they authored a guide for sustainable development in the federal government that is being recognized in the "Outstanding Sustainable Planning, Design and Development Initiative" category. The 40-page guidebook, The New Sustainable Frontier: Frinciples of Sustainable Development, was published in September 2009.

3.1.10 | New York, NY | Parsons Brinckerhoff received a 2010 Safe-in-Sound Excellence in Hearing Loss Prevention Award from the National Institute for Occupational Saftey and Health. The awards honor those who are dedicated to the prevention of noise-induced hearing loss through innovative or excellent hearing loss prevention practices in the work environment.
