4.15.08 | Portland, OR | Mulvanny G2 Architecture received a "What Makes it Green" regional award from AIA Seattle for its design of Portland City Storage, a multi-use dry boat storage and recreational facility. The facility, scheduled to break ground in April, 2008, is the only one of its kind in the U.S. to target LEED Gold certification.

4.11.08 | Grand Rapids, MI | Steelcase director Craig Welch purchased 50,000 shares of the company's stock according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing and as reported by the Associated Press. In a Form 4 filed with the SEC, Mr.Welch reported he bought the shares for between $11.10 and $11.25 apiece. Insiders file Form 4s with the SEC to report transactions in their companies' shares.

4.11.08 | New York, NY | AIA New York Chapter announced the winners of its inauguaral Building Type Awards, a biennial effort to recognize excellence and innovation in specialized design fields from established and new practitioners from New York City and Massachusetts. Co-sponsored by AIANY and the Boston Society of Architects, the awards featured Educational Facilities, Sustainable Projects and Urban Design.
