HOK Chicago Hires Two

Ms Laveen, who has more than 20 years of experience, becomes Senior Practice Leader of the Advance Strategies Group. Prior to joining HOK, she was Senior Vice President with Jones Lang LaSalle. Ms. Laveen will lead the firm's advisory practice in the North Central Region. Mr. Buescher, with more than 30 years of professional experience, joins the firm as a Senior Associate and Project manager in HOK's International Studio. Previously, Mr. Buescher was a Partner with ROBU Design in Chicago. Six Chicago Architects Elevated To College Of Fellows
3.12.08 | Chicago, IL | American Institute of Architects elevated six Chicago architects into its College of Fellows, an honor awarded to members who made contributions of national significance to the profession. Those honored are August Battaglia, DanielCinelli, Tod Desmarais, Peter Ellis, David Hansen and Brian Lee. They are among 116 AIA members who will be recognized at the 2008 AIA Convention and Design Expo in Boston, MA, on May 16.
Stephen Lawrence Centre Vandalized
3.10.08 | London, UK | The Stephen Lawrence Centre was recently damaged by vandals, barely a week after it opened, causing more that £120,000 of damage and is being considered as a racial attack. The centre, built to inspire young people to pursue careers in architecture, was named for Stephen Lawrence who was murdered by the age of 18 in 1993. The centre's curriculum and outreach activities primarily target young people, age 14-25 who are living in poverty.
