Steven Holl Architects Designs Chengdu China Project
2.29.08 | New York, NY | Steven Holl Architects was commissioned by CapitaLand China to design a mixed-use complex in Chengdu, China. Calling it a 'Sliced Porosity Block', the building is made up of five towers with a multi-level plaza in the center of the complex. The towers, designed for offices, apartments retail, hotel, cafes and restaurants, have a geometric exterior and are heated and cooled geo-thermally.

to design its headquarters in Abu Dhabi's Masdar City, the world's
first zero-carbon, zero-waste city fully powered by renewable energy. The headquarters will be the world's first large-scale, mixed-use
"positive energy" building, producing more energy than it consumes. Masdar's headquarters will be completed by 2010.
