continuing education program at the University of California, and one of
the few public continuing education programs in the country to offer
USGBC-approved course credits. The UC Berkeley Extension sustainability courses are
designed to meet the anticipated 30% growth in the next decade in green jobs.

Ergonomics conducted a two year study showing that systematic physical screenings of truck drivers prior
to hiring led to a 7% reduction in lost work days. The study, part of
Atlas’ ongoing research into transportation industry ergonomics,
reviewed and quantified the effects of a Pre-Work Screen program addressing drivers’ risks of musculoskeletal disorders. By assessing drivers’ physical
risks before hiring, a PWS program can
match workers’ physical abilities with the physical demands of the job.

12.4.09 | New York, NY | SKYed Eco Education, inpartnership with AIANY, will offer a class to prepare professionals for the LEED Green Associate exam. The class will be held at the Center for Architecture, 536 LaGuardia Place, NYC, on December 15, 8-11 am. The course includes a comprehensive study plan and practice exam questions and answers.
