New Pudong Hospital. It will be the largest new hospital built in one
phase in China. The facility is scheduled to begin later this
year and will include four inpatient towers, a VIP tower, an
outpatient center, an emergency center, and an infectious disease
building.

3.9.10 | Royal Oaks, MI | FX Architecture relocated to a renovated building at 419 E.
Fourth Street. Frank and Carol
Ann Arvan, owners of FX Architecture, bought the building in 2008 and transformed it into a modern office space that enhances its original character. Recycling, adaptive reuse and many other green
construction techniques were incorporated in the new design.

facility for the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command at Hickam Air Force Base, Honolulu, HI. The multi-story
facility will hold an identification laboratory, administrative
offices, and a warehouse.

3.9.10 | Chicago, IL | Aqua, the world's third tallest building designed by a woman,
was the winner of the Emporis 2009 Skyscraper of the Year
award. Designed by Jeanne Gang, Studio
Gang Architects, the residential and hotel tower was praised for its shape, its technical achievement in relation to the precision of the building's construction, and for its green design innovations.

3.5.10 | Washington, DC | Hickok Cole Architects solidified its plans for Square 54. The mixed-use office, housing, and retail project at 2200 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC, is expected to be completed later this year. The space, previously held by George Washington University Hospital, will consist of three buildings, will be LEED Silver certified.

3.3.10 | Washington, DC | HOK, the General Services Administration, and the University of Maryland, earned a top award from the Federal Planning Division of the American Planning Association. Together they authored a guide for sustainable development in the federal government that is being recognized in the "Outstanding Sustainable Planning, Design and Development Initiative" category. The 40-page guidebook, The New Sustainable Frontier: Frinciples of Sustainable Development, was published in September 2009.

3.2.10 | Denver, CO | The General Service Administration officially selected the design-build team for the modernization of the Byron G. Rogers Federal Office Building in Denver, CO. The team includes: Mortenson Construction, Bennett Wagner & Grody Architects, HOK, The RMH Group, Inc., Rocky Mountain Institute, and Martin/Martin, Inc.
Work on the 620,000 sq. ft. building includes complete design and
construction for upgrades to the structural elements and all major
building systems. The building upgrades are projected to reduce energy
use by more than 80% over current levels and attain LEED
Platinum certification.

process, terminal facilities, ease of security checks, and food and
retail services. Indianapolis ranked highest in both the small category of airports with
fewer than 10 million passengers a year and also highest overall in the
entire study.
