Orders of $730 million for the month were up 11% compared with last year and up 21% from April orders of $605 million. May shipments increased 5% year-over-year to $635 million, up from $580 million in April. "For the first time since July 2008, BIFMA orders, shipments, and backlog all improved on a year-over-year basis," Mr. Bugatch noted.
