2.25.10| Muscatine, IA | Allsteel's Sustainability Program Manager, Keri Luly, told attendees at The Office Exhibition in Dubai that
sustainability is a world imperative. In her keynote speech earlier this
month, Luly advised that sustainability is a wake-up call with more
benefits than detriments.
The 2010 keynote speech marks the second time Luly has presented at the
expo, the largest of its kind in the Middle East. In addition, she
conducted two workshops. It was the sixth year Allsteel participated in
the show.
Allsteel also earned top honors in The Office Awards program. Stride, the
newest office furnishing system from Allsteel that meets the needs of
nearly every facility’s interior landscape, received the Gold Award in
the Furniture Systems category, while the stylish and ergonomic Acuity
task chair, took Silver in Seating.

2.25.10 | Washington, DC | The National Council for Interior Design Qualification, Inc.
released two multiple-choice practice tests for exam
candidates and others to use when preparing for the NCIDQ Examination.
The online practice tests are available exclusively through NCIDQ’s
store, QShop, linked from their Web site at www.ncidq.org. The all-new practice tests were developed in response to exam candidates who wanted valid, reliable study
materials directly from NCIDQ, particularly in light of the
restructuring of the exam content that took effect in January 2010.
NCIDQ has prepared two practice tests—one for each of the two
multiple-choice exams. Section 1 covers codes, building systems,
construction standards and construction administration. Section 2
covers design application, project coordination and professional
practice. The multiple-choice sections of the exam will be administered at more
than 60 locations around the United States and Canada on April 9 and
October 1.

2.25.10 | Jasper, IN | Kimball Office select dealer, Office Furniture Partnership, is implementing a "Hugs from Home" program through mid-March. The program, which gives 12-inch, clear, plastic tubes to businesses to fill with items,
supports local troops with much-needed supplies from home. Since the program began four years ago, more than 7,000 "Hugs" have been shipped and each year the companies get more creative with the items they include in the tubes.

2.23.10 | St. Louis, MO | The Col. H. Weir Cook Terminal at Indianapolis International Airport received the highest marks in passenger satisfaction in a survey of 64 major airports. The HOK-designed terminal earned 777 points in airport accessibility, baggage claim, check-in and baggage check-in
process, terminal facilities, ease of security checks, and food and
retail services. Indianapolis ranked highest in both the small category of airports with
fewer than 10 million passengers a year and also highest overall in the
entire study.

The Fishing School. Humanscale contributed 90 Cinto chairs and 16 CPU holders to the non-profit institution that provides underserved children and families in Washington, DC. The Fishing School was half of a two-part renovation project
located in two different states and totaling more than 10,000 sq. ft. Humanscale’s donation provided seating and technology solutions and helped meet the project’s environmental challenge.

received LEED Canada Platinum
certification from the Canada Green Building Council. The facility was

as architects of record. The venue is serving as the broadcast media center for
the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. In addition, the Vancouver Olympic Village
