The $300 million project links and renovates Terminal D and Terminal E with a new four-story terminal offering improved passenger amenities and baggage screening. The terminal expansion project, which began shortly after the attacks of September 11, 2001, resulted from a masterplan created by DDI, a women-owned firm, showing how Terminals D and E could be connected to enhance security operations and to facilitate the screening process for the traveling public.
