This score indicates a sharp decline in demand for design services (any score above 50 indicates an increase in billings). The new projects inquiry score was 53.8, the fourth straight month with a score in the mid-50's.

Professionals will be given a chance to design a sustainable hotel suite that will be built on the show foor of Hospitality Design Expo, May 19-21, 2010 in Las Vegas. The competition was created to recognize
forward thinking, earth conscious design ideas that will help drive
green practices within the hotel industry. A Student and Young Professional
Award also will be presented to an emerging professional. Both awards will be featured
in Hospitality Design magazine, AISD ICON and the NEWH magazine.
Submissions are due Aug. 31, 2009.

International Airport in New Zealand. Designed by locally based Warren & Mahoney
Architects, the hotel is expected to be finished in time for Rugby
World Cup 2011.

Inc. won Industrial Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) for
three of its products. Silver IDEAs were awarded to cobi and i2i, and a Bronze was awarded to Amia. Cobi and i2i are part of a
recently-introduced category of collaborative seating that combines
aesthetics with performance to facilitate collaboration and innovation. Amia is an ergonomic task chair which flexes with every move to offer consistent
ergonomic support for the lower back. The complete
