WAC Lighting Sponsors Solar Energy Decathlon Project Competition

7.17.09 | Garden City, NY | WAC Lighting is sponsoring a Cornell University Team competing in The Solar Energy Decathlon, an international, interdisciplinary design-build competition hosted biennially by the U.S. Department of Energy for three weeks in October. The 2009 Cornell Solar Decathlon team includes more than 150 students from undergraduate and graduate colleges across campus, with support from Cornell faculty members, staff and alumni. EMCOR Group Receives Cricket Wireless HQ Contract

7.17.09 | Norwalk, CT | EMCOR Group subsidiary, Dynalectric San Diego, received a contract for the installation of electrical systems for the Cricket Wireless corporate headquarters improvement in San Diego, CA.  Dynalectric San Diego will be responsible for the installation of all the electrical systems associated with the Cricket Wireless six-story, 179,654 square foot improvement, consisting of meeting rooms, offices, gym, cafeteria, game, and open areas. Significant Downturn In Nonresidential Construction Activity Projected Through 2010

7.15.09 | Washington, DC | AIA's semi-annual Consensus Construction Forecast survey anticipates a significant downturn in nonresidential construction activity through 2010. Nonresidential construction spending is expected to decrease by 16% in 2009 and drop by another almost 12% in 2010 in inflation adjusted terms. Commercial projects will see the most significant decrease in activity. In contrast, most institutional building categories are expected to see much more modest declines over this period.
