7.2.09 | New York, NY | Caroline Baumann was named acting director of the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, effective July 13. Since joining Cooper-Hewitt in 2001, Ms. Baumann has served as director of development, director of external affairs and deputy director. From 1995 to 2001, Baumann worked at The Museum of Modern Art, where she raised funds for the museum's Yoshio Taniguchi building project among other accomplishments. Ms. Baumann will serve as acting director while a 10-member committee searches for a permanent director.

7.2.09 | Singapore,China | RMJM's Singapore studio revealed the designs for a new Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa on China Beach in Vietnam. Considered one of the most luxurious beaches in the world, the project will include residences and a 200-room hotel. The hotel is expected to open in 2010.

Mr. Muir, who has worked as an adjunct professor at the university since 1993, has been influential in designing various projects in Salt Lake, including the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center and the Bridge Project for Artspace. Mr Muir is a past president of the American Institute of Architects Utah and a member of the College of Fellows of the AIA.
