Configura Joins EMerge Alliance

EMerge Alliance is an open industry association established in 2008 to promote safe, low-voltage direct-current (DC) power distribution and use in commercial building interiors. In his three year term as Mayor of Bogata, Columbia, Mr. Peñalosa promoted a city model, giving priority to children and public spaces and restricting private car use, building sidewalks, bicycle paths, pedestrian streets, greenways, and parks. Mr. Peñalosa also led efforts to improve Bogotá‘s marginal neighborhoods through citizen involvement; planted more than 100,000 trees and created a bus-based transit system.

  • Color Effects in a Hospital Room: The experiment examined whether individual differences in environmental sensitivity influenced emotional responses (i.e., stress, arousal) and cognitive appraisal toward different colors in a simulated hospital room.
  • Environmental Health PVC Emissions Higher in Completed Buildings: The study compared emissions from stand-alone PVC materials versus those used in combination with adhesives in completed buildings.

Neal Small Exhibit Extended Through June 19

KDC To Install Electric Systems For California Airport

Benchmarking Research Details Effects Of Economy On Workplace Operations

6.10.09 | Houston, TX | IFMA released, "Operations and Maintenance Benchmarks, Research Report # 32."  Among its findings are that the average space per person has risen nearly 40 sq. ft. since 2007, likely due to recent corporate layoffs, and that companies are adjusting their thermostats higher or lower by an average of one degree, in an effort to minimize energy use and cut costs. The report also highlights developments in built environment sustainability trends. Of those surveyed, only 11% report managing buildings with no green elements or certification, with 28% reporting one or more certified buildings and 61% saying their buildings contain green elements but are not certified.

ASID Designers Participate In AARP Recession Remodel Contest
