ACE Mentor National Competition Winners Announced

Architecture Billings Index Jumps In March

5.14.09 | New York, NY | The Architecture Billings Index rose more than 8 points to 43.7 in March, marking the second consecutive monthly improvement, according to the AIA. The index has not crossed above 50, a level that indicates improving demand, since January 2008. The four geographic regions tracked by the group remained below 50, as did all four construction subsectors, but a measure of inquiries for projects rose 7 points to 56.6, its third consecutive monthly increase.

Herman Miller Announces Planned Actions To Reduce Costs

  • A reduction in the company's quarterly cash dividend to 2.2 cents per share from the 8.8 cents that the company declared and paid in each of the past 9 quarters.
  • A plan to consolidate manufacturing operations with the closure of its Integrated Metal Technologies subsidiary in Spring Lake, MI.
