New Canaan Country School Awarded LEED Silver

4.21.08 | New Canaan, CT | The Stevens Building at New Canaan Country School, New Canaan, CT, was awarded LEED silver for overall design, materials conservation, and use of systems that emphasize energy and water efficiency. Butler, Rogers, Baskett Architects, and Turner Construction worked with a LEED consulting and commissioning firm, the Stone House Group, to achieve this goal. Methods included recycled building materials, use of photovoltaic (PV) panels, low VOC (volatile organic compound) paints and carpets, daylight harvesting, as well as air quality and low water-use systems.

Kimball Office Working Group On Sustaining The Future Of Interior Design Education

Trivers Associates to Renovate Washington University’s Busch Hall

4.18.08 | St. Louis, MO | Trivers Associates, an architecture firm with offices in St. Louis and Edwardsville, was recently selected as the architect for Washington University's Busch Hall historic renovation project. Designs include renovations for educational modernization and LEED certification. Adolphus Busch Hall, built in 1901, is a historic landmark to Washington University members and St. Louis residents alike. The renovation calls for repair, refinish, or replacement of doors and drainage systems, improvements to fire protection, HVAC, restrooms, elevator, and data com systems. Electrical and plumbing systems will also be replaced or updated. The project also has plans for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. The Busch Hall renovation is expected to begin in the summer of 2008, and be completed by the fall of 2009.

Knoll Announces First Quarter Results

4.17.08 | East Greenville, PA | Knoll announced results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2008. Net sales were $267.8 million for the quarter, an increase of 8.0% from first quarter 2007. Operating income was $31.9 million, or 11.9% of net sales, an increase of 3.6% from the first quarter 2007, net income was $17.3 million, an increase of 16.9% over the first quarter 2007, and earnings per share grew 20% to $0.36 from $0.30 in the prior year.
