4.17.08 | New York, NY | Syska Hennessy Group received a Diamond Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York as part of the organization's 2008 Engineering Excellence Awards competition.The firm received the award for its design work on the National History Museum of the Adirondacks in Tupper Lake, NY. 4.15.08 | Washington, DC | New Buildings Institute and CoStar Group recently released studies which confirmed that third party certified buildings outperform their conventional counterparts in energy savings, occupancy rates, sale price and rental rates. The NBI study reported that new buildings LEED certified performed 25-30% better than non-LEED buildings in energy use. Buildings under the ENERGY STAR program use an average of almost 40% less energy and emit 35% less carbon.
