Putting words into action, the company launched a Sustainable Design Initiative which includes: adopting the 2030 Challenge, reducing potable water in projects, eliminating hazardous materials, pledging 1% of the firm's time for pro bono efforts in green design projects (which computes to more than 20,000 hours/year), requiring all new firm offices to be built to LEED Gold standards, and aligning itself with partners and vendors that share the firms sustainable goals.

11.20.07 | St. Louis, MO | idX Corporation launched an environmental initiative with the introduction of an awards program recognizing eco-friendly retail store interior products or design solutions. The idX Green Product Challenge is open to all exhibitors at GlobalShop 2008 at the McCormick Place in Chicago from March 18-20. Entries will be on display at the idX Green Product Showcase and the winning product will be chosen by show attendees, retailers, consumer products companies and retail store design firms through interactive voting kiosks at the show. The winning product will be recognized at the A.R.E. Retail Design Awards on March 18 with an award valued at $10,000.
Entries will be accepted in the idX Green Product Challenge beginning in
mid-December at www.GlobalShop.org,
and will be posted on the website prior to the show.

11.16.07 | Washington, DC | The 2007 Autodesk/AIA Green Index, an annual survey which measures how AIA members are practicing sustainable design, revealed an increase in green design. The survey reports 70% of architects see client demand as the leading driver of green building and that the primary reason these owners and developers are demanding greener buildings is to reduce operating costs. Architects are responding by significantly
increasing their use of sustainable elements such as high-efficiency HVAC
systems, recycled building materials and using software to model energy
