Allsteel's Santa Monica showroom, which measures 16,000 square feet, was designed by the architectural firm HOK. Allsteel and the HOK design team also incorporated a day-lighting system that adjusts the level of interior lighting based on how much natural light is coming in and maintains a constant lighting level all day, while decreasing overall energy consumption.

11.2.07 | Detroit, MI | Allsteel hosted more that 260 of Detroit's architecture, design, real estate, and corporte professionals, dressed in costume, for the fifth annual Allsteel Spooktacular. This year's party, organized by Allsteel, Gunlocke, and local dealer Interior Environments, took place at Forte restaurant in Birmingham, MI. Rossetti Associates
took home the top prize in the group costume contest when they came dressed as a garden complete with
flowers, a farmer and a weed.

In addition, Cinto was a First Category Winner and first-place finisher in the Interior Furniture category. The Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization also recognized Cinto with a 2007 Good Design Award in its Product Design category.Cinto, which is 100% recyclable, was designed for quick and easy disassembly. Mr. Fleetwood was cited for his design of mansion-sized cottages and for turning shingle-siding and authentic grandeur into national housing trends. 10.31.07 | Grand Rapids, MI | Steelcase released the results of the second in a three-part Workplace Index Survey on the Nature of Work in 2007, conducted by Opinion Research Corporation. The responses of nearly 700 office workers indicated that only 31% exercised during work hours, but that access to fitness equipment was available to only 31%. However, 80% felt that exercise has or would have a positive impact on their well being and productivity. The survey also looked at where, why and how people like to exercise. 10.31.07 | New York, NY | Kostow Green Architects was selected to design SteelStax, a performing arts, broadcast, educational, and event complex in Bethlehem, PA. The site, once home to the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, will contain a 46,000 sq. ft. broadcast center and a 90,000 sq. ft. performing arts center, and also will incorporate elements from the existing Electric Furnace Building and renovation of the Turn & Grind Shop. The project is scheduled to break ground January 2009.
