COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Advances in cognitive science and its application through cognitive ergonomics have important ramifications for the design of modern workplaces. This course will:
- Introduce the participants to the science of cognitive ergonomics (CE)
- Describe the basic principles of CE
- Relate how design of workplaces can benefit from understanding how human minds work to support minds at work
- Understand how physical and cognitive ergonomics are two sides of the same science
- Understand the basic principles of cognitive ergonomics
- Develop awareness of the importance of cognitive science and cognitive ergonomics to knowledge work
- Understand how cognitive ergonomics can be applied to today's work environment
