National Office Furniture Celebrates 30 Years of Exceptional Value and Personality
2.26.10 | Jasper, IN | National Office Furniture celebrates its 30th anniversary, marking over three decades of delivering exceptional value, reliability and personality to the office furniture industry. Founded in 1980 by parent company, Kimball International Inc., National was created to deliver on two fundamental objectives: provide customers with quality office furniture at a better value; and offer shorter lead times. This evolved into the vibrant brand that you experience today, Furniture with Personality at an exceptional value.
Whether its product or people, our goal is to deliver an extraordinary experience every time you interact with the National brand. Personality and having a little fun are always part of that experience, says Kourtney Smith, Vice President of Marketing, National Office Furniture. National went to market with five casegood series and two seating lines. Now, they have over 20 in each category including extensive tables, conferencing and media solutions. Today, National employs over 1,000 talented and dedicated workers throughout their network which includes the Jasper, IN, headquarters, product development and research facility, four manufacturing locations and six showrooms. As we look back with great reverence for our heritage, its even more exciting to look forward. We are proud of our accomplishments, but we hold our customers, employees, partners, communities and the environment closest to our heart, continued Smith. 30 years of wonderful relationships through both successful and challenging times are the real reason to celebrate. 2009
National announces $4.6 million investment for environmentally-friendly UV finish technology, IntegraClear, at its Fordsville, KY, facility; Indiana manufacturing facilities earn membership to Indianas Department of Environmental Management Environmental Stewardship Program; Santa Claus, IN, facility earns OSHAs Voluntary Protection Program STAR Status; Received Indiana Governors Award for exemplary performance in pollution prevention; Received OFDAs Manufacturer of the Year Bronze Award; Orange County Showroom earns LEED certification; Integration of eCoupled wireless technology begins.
2008
All manufacturing facilities registered ISO 14001, the Environmental Management System standard and certified to Forest Stewardship Councils (FSC) Chain of Custody; Aurora guest chair receives Interior Design Magazines Best of Year Merit Award; WaveWorks was the first wood casegood series in the industry to be certified level 2 by SCS to the BIFMA e3 Sustainability Standard.
2007
National announces $6 million investment in environmentally-friendly UV finish technology, IntegraClear, at its Santa Claus, IN, facility; New York Showroom earns LEED certification; Seating products meet/exceed BIFMA Furniture Emission Standards earning SCS Indoor Advantage and Indoor AdvantageGold certifications.
2005 Jasper Showroom earns LEED-Gold certification; Chicago Showroom earns LEED-Silver certification.
