Sea Gull Lighting Wins Next Generation Luminaire Award

announce that its LED Surface Mount Downlight, Powered by JuiceWorks, has
been recognized as one of the winners of the 2009 Next Generation
Luminaire award in the Downlight category.
The Next Generation Luminaires (NGL) is an annual competition, jointly organized by the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES), the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), and the Department of Energy. The competition was created to recognize well-designed, energy-efficient, and attractive commercial solid state lighting that uses a fraction of the electricity of standard incandescent, halogen, and high-intensity discharge fixtures. By encouraging new designs and technologies, Next Generation Luminaires aims to increase market acceptance and awareness of LEDs for general illumination lighting.
Sea Gull Lighting's LED Surface Mount Downlight was recognized by an esteemed panel of judges for its optic performance and ease of installation. This dimmable LED downlight is a surface mount alternative to recessed lighting, and offers substantially more footcandles than delivered through common recessed fixtures. It can be mounted to a junction box and is also available in a retrofit version to convert existing recessed lighting to LED. In addition, the LED Surface Mount Downlight is ENERGY STAR Qualified and UL/C-UL listed, and is supported by a five-year warranty.
