UMMI Receives Safety Awards

exemplary safety practices---it was recently presented a national 1st
place Safety Excellence Award from the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning
Contractors National Association (SMACNA). UMMI was the 1st place
winner in SMACNA’s annual Safety Excellence Award program for having the best
safety and health record in 2009 within the 200,001 to 300,000 man-hour
category. This SMACNA award is the
fifth major safety award received by UMMI this year for its safety practices and
superior project performance.

- Tom Guilfoy Memorial Craftsmanship of the Year Award from CAL-SMACNA (presented annually for a project where attention to detail and expertise is critical and exemplifies teamwork among sheet metal workers and contractors, and contractors and owners) -- UMMI was recognized for its work at the Veterans Home of California in West Los Angeles.
- Safety Statistics Award from the California Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Association in the 250,000 to 500,000 man-hours category for achieving OSHA Recordable Incident and OSHA Lost Workday rates of 0.0.
